This one page form allows prospective candidates to provide a brief biography of themselves and the reasons for their interest in ASWSUV. This biography will be included in the Voters’ Guide accessible by all students.
- Election Calendar
Contains all major events and deadlines for the 2018-2019 ASWSUV election.
All candidates are responsible for knowing and following the deadlines; more details on rules and regulations are noted in the Constitution and By-Laws found at www.aswsuv.com.
- Preview of ASWSUV Positions
President and Vice President: Head the Executive Branch of ASWSUV; must run on the same ticket.

How to Apply
Prospective candidates must submit the Declaration of Candidacy Form found in this packet to the Office of Student Involvement or electronically on CougSync by 5 p.m. on Friday, February 9. Candidates must then attend a Candidate Orientation. Orientations will be held on two separate dates (see Election Calendar); campaigning begins after 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 15th. For President/Vice-President ticket, only one candidate needs to be present at the orientation, but it is highly recommended that both attend as well as any campaign managers (if applicable). After submitting the Declaration of Candidacy Form to OSI or on CougSync, candidates must submit the following two items within the filing deadline to the Election Board at aswsuv.electionboard@wsu.edu: a Statement of Intent (form located in this packet); and a photograph of themselves. The photograph should be an upper-body portrait shot. Again, these items will be displayed in the Voters’ Guide. Both the Statement of Intent and photograph must be submitted via email by 5 p.m. on Friday, February 9.
Further questions or concerns may be asked at either Candidate Orientation, emailed to the Election Board or posted in the Election Board Candidate Discussion Forum found on CougSync.

07-08-2016: Join Student Government and Learn Marketable Skills as a Member of the 2016 WSU Vancouver Election Board.
My Experience on the WSU Vancouver Election Board
by Sean Philbrook
I joined the WSU Vancouver Election Board because I wanted to better understand the process and to make an impact on campus. As a Public Affairs student, it seemed right up my alley. What I got from my experience, however, far surpassed my expectations. I learned how to manage long-range planning, how to effectively communicate to different audiences both large and small and how to collaborate with a diverse team of individuals. If you’re looking for a way to get involved and to better understand how the university works, look no further. The skills I gained are applicable in the world of business, marketing and communications, public affairs, politics and everything in between. I worked with members of student government, faculty and staff, administrators and even the chancellor. The WSU Vancouver Election Board is a launch pad for involvement and it’s only an application away.
Apply by July 14, 2016 at noon! bit.ly/ElectionsApp
